FAQ
What is Cars Bids History?
A free archive of past Copart and IAAI auction results — prices, final bids, photos, damage and vehicle details for salvage and used cars sold in the USA.
How do I find a car's auction history by VIN?
Enter the VIN in the search box to see every past auction record, photos, odometer, damage and final bid for that vehicle.
Can I search by lot number instead of VIN?
Yes. Use lot search with the Copart or IAAI lot number.
Is it free?
Yes — browsing auction history, prices and photos is completely free.
Where does the data come from?
From completed Copart and IAAI auctions (US salvage and insurance auto auctions). We keep historical records only.
What does "final bid" mean?
The last recorded bid for that lot at the auction. It may differ from the actual sale price and does not guarantee the car was sold.
Why do some old VINs look different?
Older auction records may use VIN formats that differ from the current 17-character standard; we keep them as-is so historical data stays searchable.
How can I remove my vehicle from the site?
Use the "Request to hide" option on the lot page to ask us to hide records for a specific VIN.
